But what she is saying there is so great I don't really mind. By the time she's 35, and maybe ready to be presidential, her voice will have caught up with her great mind.

Years ago, I bought a Barbara Kingsolver book (Prodigal Summer) on audiobook for $49. So expensive! But it was going to help me drive cross country. When I popped in the cd, I was very annoyed at the reader's voice. It was way too high. But then. I read the case. It was her. Barbara Kingsolver reading her own work. I got used to her voice real quick.

And I think we'll get used to AOC's voice real quick. Because she is speaking truth to power, and doing it with so much detail and smarts. Dang, she's great.Sue VanHattumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10237941346154683902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283150494128111732.post-15536706245016497122016-12-12T22:30:55.453-07:002016-12-12T22:30:55.453-07:00boardgamegeek.com is the number one resource for b...boardgamegeek.com is the number one resource for board games.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04379373159467714605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283150494128111732.post-79920983366889601602016-12-12T10:43:27.447-07:002016-12-12T10:43:27.447-07:00I love Pandemic; my son doesn't. Mostly about her journey both as a black German adopted by a white family, and as the bio-daughter of her much damaged mother. I thought she showed a fair amount of compassion given the circumstances.

I loved her description of Tel a Viv, and being a black German in Israel learning Hebrew and doing graduate work there. Her discovering her bio history and coming out to her Israeli friends was powerful.

I wonder, given what we're learning about epigenics, how/if her bio mom ever had a chance, and I'm impressed by the author's strength of character.Aprilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04183821631585672805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283150494128111732.post-7249725544044319682016-05-11T22:37:13.333-06:002016-05-11T22:37:13.333-06:00So what did you think of My Grandfather...So what did you think of My Grandfather...Sue VanHattumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10237941346154683902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283150494128111732.post-68928719380178169312016-05-08T19:01:01.551-06:002016-05-08T19:01:01.551-06:00I loved Girl on a Train!I loved Girl on a Train!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283150494128111732.post-67312737532519982902016-05-08T19:00:48.770-06:002016-05-08T19:00:48.770-06:00I loved Girl on a Train!I loved Girl on a Train!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3283150494128111732.post-45832983601689265322016-02-13T07:30:10.769-07:002016-02-13T07:30:10.769-07:00<3 <3 <3 change is difficult and often bi...<3 <3 <3 change is difficult and often bittersweet.
