Hey Friends,
I'm an idiot.
Those of you who know me IRL already know - I'm an idiot. Now the rest of you do too.
My latest evidence? I had a bunch of comments awaiting moderation, like from over a month ago, and just now noticed. And they were all nice comments, no spam or flames or trolls, and they were just sitting there. Lonely. Waiting. Politely. For me to notice. Which I finally did, and approved, but I feel kinda bad that they just sat there for so long before I realized they were there.
It's good that children are loud and annoying isn't it?

I've done the same, more than once. (I turned moderation off because I'm so bad, and it turned out I had stopped getting much spam. So it's still off.)

I wanted to add that I blog using WordPress as the platform. It has a feature that allows everyone's first comment to be held for moderation but that once you approve the comment all their other comments get automatically accepted. That helps a lot with spam--you never approve spam so their comments never go through, but you're not bogged down moderating every comment your trusted friends and fans make.
